I take confidentiality very seriously. It is your choice to share information with others that is discussed in session. The only limitations to confidentiality occur when a client is either a threat to themselves or someone else.
It is quite natural to feel anxious at your first counseling session. I understand the courage it takes to share your feelings with someone you don’t yet know. I try to make the sessions feel as safe and relaxing as possible. I may use a number of different techniques so we can work together to relieve your anxiety or depression, set goals, improve your relationships and make positive and hopeful changes in your life.
How often you come to counseling will be something we can decide together. Usually counseling begins with a weekly session. Regularity is very effective to get results. You may decide that to work more deeply, you would like more than one session each week. Again, this is something we can discuss together.
