Does your teenager

  • Have difficulty concentrating?
  • Have failing grades?
  • Lack motivation?
  • Have difficulty making friends or fitting in?
  • Lack self confidence?
  • Seem anxious or depressed?

Here are some general statements teens have said to me over time:

I just don’t fit in. Everybody else has a clique they hang out with. What’s wrong with me?

I don’t know if I should have sex with my boyfriend. He says he’ll break up with me if I don’t and if I really loved him, I would do it.

All my friends are using drugs. I’m scared to try it but I really want to fit in.

I can’t stop thinking about this guy at school. Does that mean I’m gay? I’m really confused and can’t talk to my friends about it.

I’ve been thinking of getting me nose pierced. My parents don’t want me to but everybody else is doing it.

It can be painful to watch your child suffer and feel helpless to assist them. This time in your child’s life is full with challenges, confusions and difficult choices. Sometimes an objective ear is helpful. I have extensive experience connecting with teenagers and helping them feel happier, feel less isolated and more accepted socially, succeed academically, and communicate better with you.

A child’s adolescent years are naturally volatile and often cause parents to feel insecure in their parenting. I can help you feel less anxious, more relaxed and more successful in your role as parent.

If you feel that you or your teen could use some help, during this challenging phase of life, call me at 212-414-5369 or click here to email me. I would be glad to answer any questions you may have.
