Phone or online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy, especially if you’re not able to leave your home. And we can still maintain the same therapeutic relationship as if we were meeting at the office. You also have the choice to switch from online counseling to in-person sessions when you choose to.

How effective is online therapy?

If long commute times, scheduling conflicts, or personal reasons make it difficult or impossible to attend in-person counseling, talking to a therapist online might be right for you. It can provide you with the support to get through troubled times just as effectively as in-person sessions. Someof my clients say they prefer phone therapy because it removes their fear of commuting out of their homes and neighborhoods. Will online counseling be covered by insurance? 

I offer my clients a free, 45 to 50-minute session to determine if we’re a good fit. You will not be charged for the session if you don’t wish to continue further. I’m an out-of-network provider, however, I work with the Healthfirst Medicaid Program. Upon request, I can provide an invoice at the end of the month for insurance reimbursement. All pertinent information is provided for invoicing.
